Design for a Just City

Acceptance and Identity. Fairness and Choice. What are the spatial possibilities for Rotterdam if we designed for the city starting from values? The ‘Design for a Just City’ project is the documentation of the work behind a Masterclass with Toni L. Griffin, held in collaboration with the Veldacademie and AIR in June 2018.

A Visual Handbook for Inclusive Cities

The project ‘A Visual Handbook for Value-driven Inclusive urbanism’, was a design experiment sought to produce a practical handbook that helps users adopt a value-driven methodology for designing cities. This included developing a research method, graphic design and conducting cocreation workshop with different groups. The project was supported by Stimuleringsfonds NL.

The Empact Game

The goal of this project is to create a game-based app to help understand people, define their needs, their priorities and their motivations to design during participatory design processes so that they negotiate for better cities supported by inclusive processes. Urban Empact looks to use this tool for different stages of an urban development project investigative, informative and feedback.
